Andrew Layson, Founder, CPA

Andrew Layson is the founder of Layson, Treadwell & Spires CPA.  He graduated from Georgia College and State University in 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. In 2017, he earned his Master’s degree in Accountancy from Gardner-Webb University and completed the necessary requirements to become a Certified Public Accountant in March of 2018. With a focus on Taxation in his Master’s program, Andrew is well-equipped to handle complex tax situations. In his leisure time, Andrew and his wife enjoy traveling and playing golf.

Teresa Treadwell, CPA

Teresa Treadwell grew up in Sanford, North Carolina, not far from the Raleigh suburb where her daughter and son-in-law live today. She came to Georgia in 1991, after completing her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Middle Tennessee State University in 1989. She has more than 30 years of experience in public accounting, specializing in individual, business, trusts, estate and not-for-profit tax planning and preparation, as well as small business consulting. For more than 20 of those years, she served as managing partner of her firm at Lake Oconee, which has now joined with Layson, CPA to create Layson, Treadwell & Spires CPA. She enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her dog, Ashes. Outside of the office, you can find her hiking in the mountains, taking excursions to the beach, hitting the links, and just hanging out on the back porch with special friends.

Faith Kilpatrick, CPA

Faith Kilpatrick joined our firm in 2018. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Middle Georgia State University, and later earned her Master of Accountancy in 2020. To top it off, she became a Certified Public Accountant in January of 2022. Faith’s expertise in all things accounting and tax-related makes her an invaluable member of our team and a trusted resource for our clients. When she’s not crunching numbers, you can find her exploring the great outdoors with family and friends, playing pickleball, or getting lost in a good book.

Terry Layson, Accountant

Terry Layson has been married to his wife, Beverly, for over 40 years. They have three children – including Andrew Layson, founder of Layson, Treadwell & Spires CPA – and several grandchildren. He believes in the value of family and loves spending time with them. His business background began in the mid-1980’s when he started his first business. Through the years, he has established four different businesses. Terry recognizes the complexities of starting and running a small business. He understands that accounting, taxes, and cash flow are hard to comprehend from the business point of view. With his experience, he can help clients make sense of the confusing parts of starting and running a business.

Beverly Layson, Accountant

Beverly Layson, wife of Terry Layson, joined the accounting practice in 2015. She received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Georgia College and State University. She has extensive experience in private sector accounting. Before joining the practice, Beverly was an accounting and computer teacher for 17 years. She enjoys spending time with her family and playing with her grandchildren.

Heather Brown, Accountant

A native of Gray, Georgia, Heather Brown has been a member of the team at Layson, Treadwell & Spires since May 2023. She studied for her associate degree in accounting at Central Georgia Technical College in 2019. She hopes to translate her experience into becoming an IRS Enrolled Agent, empowering her to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service. She is passionate about God, her family, and her labrador retriever. When she’s not cheering on the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs, you can find her volunteering in her community or taking some time away on the beach.

Jennette Rerucha, Accountant

During her years of experience, Jennette Rerucha has established numerous small businesses and has a full understanding of the complexity and challenges of owning your own business. Originally from Los Angeles, Jennette has lived here in Georgia for the past 27 years, earning her associate degree in business administration from Georgia Military College in 2015, bachelor’s degree in professional accounting from Colorado State University in 2018, and a Masters of Professional Accounting from Colorado State University in 2020. She joined the Layson, Treadwell & Spires CPA team in October 2023 as a staff accountant. Personal fitness is important to Jennette, who spends time away from the office as a personal trainer, nutrition coach, and powerlifting coach, as well as a powerful lifter in her own right: she’s held a state of Georgia powerlifting record since 2021. She is married with two grown children and one grandchild.

Brian Dwyer, Accountant

Brian Dwyer, originally from Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, just south of Scranton, came to Georgia in 2018 to pursue his undergraduate degree at the University of Georgia, where he earned a Bachelor’s in Finance in 2022. Subsequently, he attended the University of Notre Dame, graduating in 2023 with a Master’s in Accounting and a concentration in Data Analytics. Beginning his career as a Litigation & Disputes Associate in the Forensic Accounting division of a large public accounting firm, Brian later joined the Layson, Treadwell & Spires CPA team in May of 2024. Outside of work, he enjoys spending quality time with family, friends, and his dog Kenny, diving into activities like exercising, boating, flyfishing, ocean fishing, whitewater kayaking, golfing, traveling and exploring as many new interests as possible.

Laura Ray, Office Manager (Greensboro)

Laura started with Greenhalgh & Treadwell in September of 2001 and has remained a part of the team throughout its iterations over the past two decades. In addition to providing exceptional office management skills for the firm’s Lake Oconee office, she also provides clients with payroll and bookkeeping services. She and her husband, Robert, live in Greensboro, Georgia, and enjoy being with their two children and eight grandchildren.

Sheri Spicer, Office Manager (Macon)

Sheri Spicer grew up in Franklin, Ohio and moved to Georgia in 2017. She  joined Layson, Treadwell and Spires,  as the office administrator in January of 2024. She finds fulfillment in building relationships with clients and assisting our CPA’s and colleagues. Outside of work, she and her husband enjoy fishing and relaxing by the lake. One of her greatest joys is being a grandmother to her six grandchildren.
